- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Scroll down and click on Camera Settings.
- Tap on the Formats option at the top.
- You’ll now be offered two options to choose from:
High Efficiency: Captures photos in HEIF and videos in HEVC format.
Most Compatible: Captures photos in JPEG and videos in H.264 format. - Select Most Compatible and you’re done. From now on, your iPhone will always store your pictures in JPEG format. However, you can always go back to High Efficiency as your default image format.
