This is what makes Smart TV’s not very smart. You are at the mercy of the manufacture. I mean Samsung, you don’t even have a ESPN app, what a joke, or any major movie players like HBO, Showtime, etc. Where are Sling TV options. A RVU TV to support directv, but not a directv app? At best the option of a smart tv is mediocre when the manufactures control or limit it’s ability to expand. Smart TV’s are pretty much useless when it comes to apps selection and installation. The bottom line is you have to buy a smart device like Roku or a Firestick to get the most wanted apps. The Smart TV and manufactures are actually pretty dumb, which limits the ability to perform as smart tv. Just a extra waste, to the make the consumer think there getting more. If it’s smart then don’t limit the consumer or just don’t bother to add the feature.

    • Nikhil says:

      Thanks for your thoughts.

    • J says:

Also, Sling TV app is indeed also included on Samsung TV app directory (and I just searched for it and installed it to make sure). Again, I’m also not sure why the original author didn’t correct this, or why his post above is so incomplete.

      • JOHN COOPER says:

Just purchased a new samsung “smart” tv and it does not support SlingTV.

      • Cindy says:

I can’t get Sling on my Samson Smart TV either. Apparently it is only compatible with certain models and mine is not one of them. Apparently.

    • J says:

DirectTV Now is also available for Samsung TV by via the HBO Go app (you install and launch the app, then select Direct TV Now as the carrier and log in with your credentials, and then Direct TV Now is available on your Samsung TV. Again, the list above is way incomplete.

    • B says:

FYI, the Samsung TV SmartHub actually does have apps for HBO Now, HBO Go, Showtime, ESPN, Sling TV, DirectTV Now (log in via the HBO Go app), and MANY others. If there are any other services you’re wondering about being available as apps, please reply and I’ll search and check for you. (As a side note, since getting a Samsung UHD 4K TV, the only time I ever use my Chromecast anymore is when I want to stream a local video file from a laptop using Videostream in Chrome, since every other possible app I’d ever use with Chromecast is now available in the Samsung TV itself.)

      • Nikhil says:

        App availability depends on region.

      • jean says:

Xfinity Stream ,Directv Now and DirecTV

      • Meg says:

Directv NOw? is it available vie the Sansumg TV SMart Hub?

      • Fee says:

Incorrect, very irresponsible, rude, and completely inconsiderate of other people’s time, much less the accuracy of your own statements. YOUR Smarthub application may have all of the above available, that does not mean all, the majority, or even a large % of smart hub tv owners do though.

Aside from the availability varying between models in the same year/range, there’s even larger divides from year to year & ZERO effort by Samsung to update availability. I can use HBONOW but not HBO-Go, or maybe vice versa I don’t recall, the explanation from Samsung being not to expect updates beyond the apps available at the time of release.

They’ll update released apps, sometimes, but releasing new apps that are technically compatible but didn’t launch until the year after your TV caramel out? “GO FYo, just be happy we aren’t removing functionality you once had at an even faster rate”

They’ll let developers update apps that already existed in that models “App Store”, but will not let them add new ones or replace them entirely.

      • Roxanne says:

        NHL?

        • Justin says:

NOPE BUT YOU CAN USE A TABLET AND CONNECT THAT TO THE TV OR A XBOX

          • Karrie says:

That’s what I was planning on doing. Have you done it and been able to get it to cast reliably? Thanks

      • Sherry says:

        Smarters tv or gse

      • Phyllis A Eaves says:

        What about CBS App?

      • Tom says:

Can I get the Plutotv app on my Samsung Smarthub?

        • Adriastro says:

I’m trying too get that too with no luck

          • Kimberly S. says:

Same here, anybody got it figured out yet?

      • Denis M says:

Looking for Balkaniyum TV and my 2019 Samsung doesn’t have it. Very frustrating as my uncles tv has it.

      • Liberty says:

        How can you get Kodi?

      • fred says:

i am looking for the app so player. not on smart hub

    • Cheryl says:

I agree. Roku tv is much better than this Hub crap. All the apps I watch are not available. Whatever I want Roku gives it. I’ll never buy this tv again for that reason. Most frustrating tv ever!

      • Peggy says:

I agree. I still can’t figure out how to watch local channels (CBS )

    • Ken Seddon says:

You are right on with your comments. I reviewed all the apps in the list and I don’t think there is one that I would watch and certainly none that I have even heard of. The only reason I can see buying a so called smart tv is for the built in browser which ROKU or FIRESTIX don’t have.

    • Hiram Rodriguez says:

It’s much better to buy a Roku tv were you can download almost every channel available and thousands of movies

    • Mo says:

I absolutely agree with your statement
Don’t call it smart and then place limit on it plus all the nonsense garbage in Samsung let the buyers decide

  2. Stephanie says:

No Sling tv available? Ugh! What’s the point of a smart tv if they have minimal apps available?

    • J says:

Sling TV app is indeed included in the Samsung TV app directory. I just searched for it to confirm this.

  3. D says:

I think apps also vary from Samsung model. I get get fox now on one of my Samsung TVs but not on all of them. That’s frustrating to me. I searched for apps I already had on an older model (2014) that weren’t available on my newer one (2017).

  4. Lu Wiltz says:

Will you have History & ID channels in the near future

  5. Mike N. says:

Hi, Seem to rhyme here. I am in need of an app from Smarthub that matches the ability of Mobdro streaming app. Any leads to have this app is appreciated.

I tend to agree with the previous comments that a smart TV is just supposed to be smart… allow for that flexibility of customisation pretty much like a phone does… Hope our good manufacturers will read this.

  6. Ron P. says:

So if Sling is available where is it or how do I find it because I sure dont see it anywhere?

    • Nikhil says:

The App availability depends on region and model number.

      • Kamal says:

And where can I find the list accordingly. Is there any web link available?
        I have 5570 model.

  7. George says:

Why is abc.go not supported. I try to watch abc via the internet and the video always gets stuck at the first break. I have to exit the site, re-enter and start over

  8. Steve. says:

I tried to download the app uyanik tv but ant find it anywhere. Can you tell me what Turkish tv app you have thank you.

  9. schmit says:

Molotov tv is announced to be available on Samsung Smart Hub.
    Why didn’t I find it.
    Thank you for your reply.

  10. Sheryl says:

I can’t find the Redbox app. Directions keep saying go to the “add app”. There isn’t one!

  11. Tim perry says:

Is Zoom for conferencing likely to become available ?

  12. Irena Mills says:

When will you add UKTV Play to the App selection it is available on most other smart tvs & devices

  13. Bonnie Davidson says:

Need to add the app for NBC Sports Gold, which is not a choice in the lineup. How do I do this? Can I do this? Or do we have to stream directly from the internet on the hub? That would be a nuisance. I’d rather simply download and add the app. Can I?

  14. Orin McManus says:

I installed the HBO GO app, signed in using my Directv now credentials. Now what do I need to do to watch Directv Now. How do I navigate to Directv Now or do I need a streaming device.

  15. Gene Williams says:

Is it possible to access PlayStation Vue on a Samsung smart TV or a Samsung Blu-ray player?

    • kim says:

No. This is a PlayStation thing. The account is connected to the actual console – etc. You can use your PlayStation Vue log in information to log onto websites/apps of channels you get via that service, but the service itself has to be used on that one device you verified the account on. (at least as of last year)

      • k says:

not true. The only device I cannot watch psvue is on my Samsung smart Tv..go figure. I must install a roku stick if I want it…..

  16. Mia says:

Keeps saying CTV go app is supported but can’t find it anywhere to download

  17. Kathy says:

Acorn tv says they okay on Samsung smart TVs. There used to be an ap for acorn but now it’s gone. How do I get that app?

  18. Lou says:

I would love it if the Samsung Smart TV had the food network app! When do you update apps? I think the apps you do offer are behind in the market.

  19. Anne says:

Acorn Tv is this available on Samsung UN55HU. 7250

  20. BLB says:

I have a NU 8000 and I don’t have an ESPN app . How do I get it?

  21. Houston says:

Any plans for a BritBox app?

    • june says:

did you get an answer.. would love to have

  22. Arnie says:

I want the MLB.TV app, aka AT BAT app. I have a 2018 Samsung set, how I do I get this?

  23. Mike Smithson says:

What about BT Sport and Eurosport player When I try to watch the latter by entering the URL it says it is not compatible with the browser.

  24. Ed says:

Samsung Smart HUB not to smart. Samsung not keeping up with todays consumer. Can not install XUMO tv streaming app.

  25. KSD says:

On the www – it says I can’t access certain sites because I don’t have the latest browser and of course, there is no way to get the latest browser

  26. Tim says:

I’m looking for a Samsung app for Kanopy and/or Hoopla

  27. Sandra Roberts George says:

Plug in a Chromecast and use your Android Tablet or Phone and stream all the apps that you like.

  28. melissa lammott says:

i finally found website that had what i was looking for!thank you!

  29. Stephanie says:

how do I get acorn.tv or brit.tv on on Samsung smart tv?

    • Nikhil says:

It depends on device model and region. You cannot add any 3rd party App onto your Smart TV unless there is an update which also introduces new package of Apps.

      • Denise says:

as of AUG ’18, our Samsung still does not have Britbox (they do have Acorn) available in the SmartHub– any way to find out if it is customer request driven to get addl. or newer apps added or just wait to see if they do finally add it ? I have our set setup for auto-updates for any newer apps. Thanks!

        • Shona says:

As of Oct 2018, Acorn is no longer available on Samsung TV’s because, to quote – “Samsung has migrated to a new operating system and consequently Acorn can no longer able to update the Acorn TV app.”
So no Brit TV for me – extremely frustrated about this.

  30. Willy says:

I now have 4 Samsung Smart TVs in service. One is a “smart hub” tv. On all four I have no problems streaming in wifi content from my Netflix and Prime Video accounts. On the three older sets I also stream my Prime Music account. However, I have not been able to find any way to get the newest set, the so-called “Smart Hub” set, to find, open, upload, whatever, so I can access my Prime Music account on that set….
What’s going on here, how come three of my Samsung tv’s have an app for Prime Music, but the newest one does not, and apparently there is no way to add that app ???
    Please explain that to me….
