It has hardly been a few months since Apple launched the iPhone 15 series in the global market. Surprisingly, rumors exist about the iPhone 16 lineup launching in 2024 already. iPhone 16 Larger Size
After a gap of a few years, we might finally see an increase in the size of the iPhone 16 models. As per sources, the size increase is limited to the iPhone 16 Pro models. On the other hand, the base model will be the same size as the iPhone 15. The iPhone 16 Pro is expected to have an increase of up to 6.3 inches while the 16 Pro Max may size up to 6.9 inches. In addition, to the size, there might also be certain changes in the design as well.
iPhone 16 Design Enhancements
Unlike in the case of size, Apple may bring some changes in design to the iPhone 16 base model. The Pro models are most likely to inherit the same design as their predecessors. A report from Macrumors published an image displaying three different prototype designs for the iPhone 16 base mode.
As you can see, the designs differ slightly, yet they give us some idea about the colour we can expect to see in the upcoming launch. The image displays the colors black, pink, and pale yellow, although Apple might add more color variants as well. As for the design, the yellow variant comes with a vertical dual camera layout similar to the one on the iPhone X. On the other hand, the other two models feature separate camera lenses in a vertical setup.
The prototypes may contain a combined volume button with haptics control or regular mechanical buttons. We can also expect to see a new Capture button on the right edge of the device. The report also says that Apple may feature a smaller Action button and Capture button that could be pressure-sensitive.

The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are expected to feature a vertical dual camera setup, while the Pro models will feature the current triple camera setup. However, the big update regarding the cameras is that the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will likely have a 48MP ultrawide lens. The iPhone 15 Pro model features a 12MP ultrawide lens; hence, this update would guarantee a significant improvement in the image quality.

However, Apple is now working on a graphene thermal system since it has higher thermal conductivity. In addition to that, the 16 Pro models might also get an extra metal battery casing for better conductivity.
Apart from that, the iPhone 15 series features the Qualcomm X70 chip which is expected to pass on to the iPhone 16 base models. However, the iPhone 16 Pro models will use the Qualcomm X75 modem, which offers better and faster 5G connectivity. Plus, we could also see the Wi-Fi 7 technology in the iPhone 16 series.
iPhone 16: Software Updates
