Google Calendar Receives a Modest But Valuable Update, Moves the ‘Search’ option to the Taskbar

Google Calendar Search Update

Google Calender Search Update

Google Calendar might not be the most popular Google App there is, but it is sure is very useful. The free calendar app that is available for both Android and iOS, is used by most users to keep track of their life events. The app even integrates with other Google services like Google Meet which makes it a fan favorite among many users.

But, it seems like Google wants to improve the user experience even more. The new update of Google Calendar has certainly improved the accessibility. The update has tweaked the design of the app and now the ‘Search‘ option will be at the top of the navigation bar. This search option was previously hidden in the hamburger menu. The hamburger menu at the left corner of the Google Calendar app had options like Schedule, Day, 3 Days, Week, Month, and finally the search option.

Looking up an event in the calendar was a bit troublesome due to its placement in the app. With its new position at the top, it will be much easier for users to search for an event like a wedding, a birthday, or an important party. Now, all a user has to do is open the Google Calendar app and tap on the ‘Search’ option indicated by a magnifying glass at the top of the taskbar.

How to look for events on the Google Calendar App?

  • Open the Google Calendar app on your Android device.
  • Tap the ‘Search’ option, which is located at the top right.
  • Type thename of the event you want to search
  • Tap ‘Search’ to confirm.

With just a simple modification, the Google Calendar app has become easier to use. We acknowledge that some users may prefer other Calendar apps over the Google Calendar App however, the Google Calendar App can be tried too.

The update which has already been rolled out for the Android app of Google Calendar will soon be available for iOS users too.
