1. Restart the Computer

Start the troubleshooting by restarting the computer. It often solves problems within a minute.

Press the Windows key to bring up the search box.
Click the power icon to expand a menu from which you have to click the option Restart.
Once the PC reboots, try to install the app.

2. Update Windows OS on the PC

To deal with bugs and glitches, look for any new software update that may be available for your PC.

Press Windows + I to go to the Windows settings.
Then, on the left-hand panel, click on Windows Update.
Next, click on Check for Updates.
Now, the PC will search for available updates.
You will be provided with an option Download Now which you have to click to initiate the update installation.
Once the update is successfully installed, restart the PC and continue with the app installation.

If it had been the bug causing the Windows installer package error, it should be fixed now.

3. Use Command Prompt and Register the Installer

Here are the steps to re-register the Windows installer which will undo any corruption with the current software package.

Navigate to the option Windows Installer, and right-click to bring up a menu.
From the menu, select the option Start.

Alternatively, if the service is already running, you can stop it momentarily and restart it again.

Press Windows + R to bring up the Run dialog box.
Enter the term services.msc and press enter. You will find your way to the list of Windows services present on your PC.
Navigate to Windows Installer service and right-click to highlight it.
From the menu select the option Properties.
Under the General Tab, click on Stop.
Wait for a few seconds for the Start option to enable. Click on it and then Click on OK to complete the process.

5. Download the Software Setup Package Once Again

If you are sure that the software package you previously downloaded is not the correct one, then redownload it. Make sure that the software setup package download process is not slowing down or interrupting anywhere. Before that uninstall or delete the existing software package(the corrupt one) from your PC.

Also, if the installation of the app requires you to connect to the web, ensure that the installation process is not getting disrupted due to a bad network.

6. Perform the App Installation as an Administrator

If you are at your school or workplace, you cannot be the administrator and install any app as per your wish. You have to contact the concerned authority and request them to install the app on your system. Otherwise, on a shared personal PC, here is how you can install an app with administrator privilege.

Browse the File Explorer and make your way to the folder where the software package is present.
Navigate to the application file which is designated as dot exe file extension.
Right-click on this setup file and select Run As Administrator.
