View NSFW Content on the Reddit App
When viewing a Reddit post on a browser, if you see the message “To View the Full Version of this Content, view this page in the Reddit App“, tap on View in App.
You will be redirected to Play Store or App Store depending on the device you are using.
- Install the Reddit app on your phone.
- Launch Reddit.
- Use the search option to find your NSFW-based subreddit.
Enable NSFW Content on Your Reddit Account
You have to enable viewing NSFW content to see the posts that are about violence/gore/adult entertainment. Unless you enable the feature, such NSFW content won’t appear on your feed.
Turn on the feature in the Reddit settings irrespective of whether you are logged in or browsing in the guest mode without signing in.

If you already have an account, simply sign into the profile.

- Select the option Sign up/Log In.

Check if the NSFW-marked Post Got Deleted
Once you log into your Reddit account, and allow viewing NSFW content on your feed, you can view all such posts marked Not Safe for Work regardless of whether you join a subreddit or not.
However, if a particular post by a user on a specific subreddit has been deleted or removed by the subreddit MODS, you cannot view it anymore.
Do you have the username of the individual who posted the now-deleted NSFW content? Send them a DM and request them to share the content with you via Reddit inbox.
Check if the Subreddit has been Banned
After you sign in to your Reddit profile, access the subreddit that posts the specific NSFW content that you want to view. Sometimes, if you do not find the subreddit, it may have been banned by Reddit due to a violation of their sitewide/app-wide rules and regulations. Once a subreddit is permanently banned you cannot view it or any of the content shared on it.
Ensure that you are typing the subreddit name correctly in the search field. Otherwise, the concerned subreddit you are trying to access won’t appear on the search result.
Fix Issues with Internet Connection
Sometimes, the problem could be a silly one. If the network at your end is unstable, the subreddits you follow won’t load up. Refreshing the feed or a subreddit repeatedly won’t do you any good until the network becomes stable.
- You can disconnect the connected devices from the WiFi.
- Turn off the router and turn it on again.
- Reconnect your phone/PC to the network.
- Launch Reddit and log into your profile.

Force Close Reddit

On Android,
- Swipe up on the display to load the Recent Apps.

After you force close Reddit, relaunch it from the App drawer (Android) or App Library(iOS).
Update the Reddit App
Sometimes, it may be a bug in the current version of the Reddit app that can stop you from viewing NSFW content on any subreddit.
Access the Play Store or App Store to check if the Reddit app has any new updates available.
On Play Store,
- Open the Play Store and tap the Gmail account.
- Go to Manage Apps and Device > Updates Available.
- If Reddit has a new version update available, tap on Update.
On App Store,
- Launch the App Store and tap the Apple ID.
- Scroll through the list of apps whose version updates are pending.
- If Reddit is listed with a new build, tap Update to install it.
Clear Cache of Reddit [Android]
